Ace Coffee Roasters is a culmination of 25 years of coffee experience. Respecting the science and craft of the past, the team of roasters have developed an evolving portfolio of coffees that reflect their passion, philosophy and commitment to roasting coffee with the end goal of delicious and truly innovative blends of third wave coffee.
This month’s offering featured the Baracca Espresso, which is one of three core espresso blends the group offers yearly. It is devised by ACE to emulate the best qualities of both Italian Tradition and Third Wave Coffee in a delightful synergy of flavours. The espresso is complex due to finding a balance between a fruit-forward espresso with pleasant acidity and a rounded sugary finish that isn't overwhelmed by bitterness.
The Baracca Espresso highlights the importance of processing methods. It has a very clear upfront liveliness highlighted by fruity notes such as Orange, Peach and blueberry flavours. This is directly a function of the natural processed Ethiopian bean from Gedeo, Yirgacheffe. You then get that Italian backbone of chocolate and nutty notes using the same base of Guatemalan and Brazilian beans yielding luscious notes of Orange, Red Fruit, Chocolate and Nut.
