September 2018's Roaster of the Month: Regard Coffee Roasters
The team at Secret Sip Coffee Club could not be happier to unveil our choice for September’s Secret Roaster! Making some serious noise out of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Regard Coffee Roasters smashed September’s mail out with another amazing single origin! Regard was established in 2015 and is aimed at building a business with integrity, honesty and transparency, aiming to do good and do right. They are continuously on a quest to learn the ins and outs of sourcing quality green coffee from quality and care-focused producers and importers. Their genuine nature really struck a chord with our team:
“We know where we are at, and we don’t have a bunch of smoke and mirrors to hide any missing branches in our knowledge or capacity. We do what we can, which is to offer you great service from real, unfiltered people who want to provide you with a beautiful coffee experience.”
The way Regard approach roasting is simple: show the coffee and all its potential with great clarity and sweetness. This company really understand the big picture and optimizes what they can control:
“We didn’t grow the coffee, nor did we pick it, sort it, process, pack or ship it across the world. This month’s offering was Regard’s single origin San Augustin Guatemalan with notes of apple, caramel, milk chocolate brown sugar, and lime zest! It has been delicious!
