July 2018's Roaster of the Month: Modus Coffee

Slide20.png

We are pumped to share the spotlight with July’s secret roaster roasting out of Vancouver, British Columbia. Forged out of the efforts of a decade-long coffee journey by one of the founders, this roaster is rapidly attracting attention from the discerning pallets in the Vancouver area with a truly remarkable approach to the quality of coffee they roast!

Modus Coffee is a micro-roaster aimed at making mid-range specialty coffee more accessible, geared to only single origin coffee rated 86 and above. Modus do this by offering multiple coffee lines, with each line always showing specific flavors. Also, everything is roasted for depth in mind, so you can use the same coffee as espresso, or a filter brew.

This month, Secret Sip served up the Dom from Modus. The Dom is a sweet familiar cup with approachable flavors of thick chocolate, sugary nougat, and subtle fruits. This medley combines to create a synergy providing more than enough depth to keep it interesting. The Dom is a single origin from Colombia Tolima prepared in a washed process at1650-2100 MASL, and is comprised of Castillo, caturra, typica varietals.

Secret Sip Coffee Club is thrilled to have partnered with Modus Coffee to bring you this month's secret roast, and what we believe to be, one of Canada’s best coffees. To learn more about Modus Coffee, check out their site below:
